The Crusaders were formed from two former members of the Seventh Cavalry: Irishdeath and Fedorov. The team was created as a haven for Tanarus players who value teamwork and communication, and are opposed to cheap tactics such as suicide mining and fragging from base. The Crusaders are a select team, and not everyone measures up to Crusader standards. However, ratio matters little to this team. Instead, the valued qualities are teamwork, fair play, dedication, and a team mentality. Crusaders are not vigilantes (often), kills are achieved for the good of the team, not individual glory.
